As mentioned in my post last week, I had an opportunity to attend a motherhood photography retreat earlier this summer called Refresh Collective. It was a bit of a risk because it was in Oklahoma and I decided to shoot only film. But, let me tell you, most of the big risks I’ve taken in my career have been worth it a million times over. This one was no exception.
Refresh Collective is a beautiful retreat organized by the amazing Melissa of Melissa Click Photography. This summer’s workshop theme was “motherhood.” As soon as I heard about it, I knew it would be a perfect fit for me! Earlier this year, I decided to make the transition into birth and motherhood photography. I’d been looking for a way to (1) expand my portfolio, (2) work on my film photography, and (3) meet other photographers of motherhood – this retreat was a combination of all of those goals!
This film maternity session was with a sweet expecting momma who is also a photographer! She was already a momma to two adorable little girls (you’ll see her whole family in a post later this week) and was expecting her first boy (who was born in August and is just the cutest!). I adore capturing the anticipation of pregnancy!
