I’m so excited to share a fun #TBT post with you all today! My life for the past (almost) four months has been a whirlwind. I had every intention of sharing this feature soon after it was posted on Cottage Hill’s online journal. Then, Finn took over my life in the most wonderful way and here we are, in September, wondering where the time went.

I came up with the story for Cottage Hill while I was pregnant and back in March, I had the opportunity to spend some time with wonderful friends and tell this story that was dear to my heart. The story was about a couple embarking on the journey of parenthood and how scary, exciting, and sweet that can be. I loved the last weeks and months leading up to meeting our little one and I wanted to create a shoot that embodied those precious moments. I think it was so important for us to savor that time together before everything changed. When it came time to choose who would be our models, Bekah of Ardent Darcy (who styled the shoot) suggested Nancy and Will! It was perfect and they graciously agreed to let us photograph them in their home.

Nancy and Will were so sweet to welcome me into their home to put together this shoot. I’ve known both of them since high school and it was so great to get to catch up with them especially when we were all about to become parents! Nancy and I were due within weeks of each other (our babes were born only 5 days apart!) and we had both decided to wait to find out the gender until birth. You can imagine that we had tons to talk about: third trimester craziness, picking out the perfect grey paint for our nurseries, natural childbirth – basically everything labor, delivery, and parenthood. Fast forward a few months and Nancy has a surprise baby girl and I have a surprise baby boy. Funny sidenote: Vaughan had dreams that we were having a girl and Will had dreams that they were having a boy – they were both in for a shock! We had such a blast and I wanted to share some of my favorite images from that day.
