Olivia’s Arrival | Winston Salem Hospital Birth

Winston Salem Birth Photographer

Little Olivia was born into one of the sweetest families I’ve had the privilege of photographing. Joseph and Casey were so kind and felt like friends right from the beginning. I knew when Casey’s birthing day arrived, we would all have a wonderful time together, preparing to welcome their sweet girl into the world!

Early Labor

On Friday, October 20th, I got a text from Casey letting me know that her water had broken (on her due date!!) and they were heading to the hospital! She arrived to find out that she was already 3cm dilated and 25% effaced. Baby was on the way!

I decided to get some rest as things were moving slowly and Joseph texted me the next morning to let me know that she’d progressed to 5.5cm and they had started Pitocin to keep things moving. A little later, she was at 6cm and I decided it was time to head in!

Active Labor

I arrived around 9:30am to a quiet room filled with excitement and smiles. Casey’s three words to describe her ideal birth experience were “peaceful, healthy, and joyful.” The entire day was exactly that. Their families were in and out of the room, praying with and encouraging them. Casey’s OB (who was a friend and coworker) visited a few times with a huge smile on her face. Everything was moving along smoothly and sweetly.

Casey and Joseph decided to try to get some rest before pushing started so I ran down to the cafeteria for lunch around noon. Just as I was finishing up, Joseph texted me to tell me she was at 9cm!

Second Stage of Labor: Pushing

By 3:30pm, Casey had started pushing and, as anyone who’s given birth knows, the excitement filled the room! Joseph was so supportive and proud – it was amazing to witness. Casey pushed with all of her strength and baby Olivia was born only about 45 minutes later! Basically Casey rocked her birth and their sweet girl was born happy and healthy!Olivia Charmane Hamby | Born on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 4:13pm

Hello :) I was curious if you did payment plans or if it is required all at one time? It would be awesome if I could do payments throughout my pregnancy!
