Choosing Gratefulness

Grateful

It’s something that I have always strived to do, but lately it’s seemed even more necessary than usual. Carrying a child is inherently difficult. Then add a toddler who is just starting to push boundaries on top of that and you’ve certainly got a challenge. This is my reality these days and while it would be SO easy to give in to complaining and self-pity, I try my hardest to appreciate every day with these babies. I don’t get “enough” work time every week. Often naps are resisted and sometime I yell. But when I take a minute to step back and look at my little life, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.

So that’s what I’m doing today, on Thanksgiving. I’m taking a step back and choosing to be grateful. We are in New Hampshire visiting my family and I feel so incredibly blessed to call them mine. I have an incredible husband who doesn’t hesitate to jump in as soon as he gets home from work every day because he knows I’m tired. I’ve got the BEST sister who loves my babies SO much. My wonderful family is the best support system, even though they don’t live close. I have a healthy little one growing in my belly. I have a job that I’m passionate about. Truly, what more could I ask for?

It’s so easy to be “held down” by the day-to-day of motherhood or entrepreneurship or whatever you’re dealing with today. I feel you, I promise. But I’m encouraging you to take a step back, look at your little corner of the world, and choose gratefulness today.
