A wonderful friend gave me this thoughtful gift for Christmas and I thought I’d share with you! The Joy Jar is an easy DIY that helps to cultivate gratitude and contentment (two things I think this world needs more of!). Basically it’s a jar filled with pieces of paper on which you can write what you’re most grateful for throughout the year. Then, at the end of the year (or whenever you’re feeling discontent) you can read through them for an instant mood-lifter! So. Here’s what you’ll need:
(1) A large mason jar
(2) Some colorful scrapbook paper
(3) Decorations for your jar (i.e. washi tape, ribbon, or paint)
Decorate your jar, cut your paper into small squares, and you’re ready to go! My favorite thing about this DIY is how easy it is but how much potential it has to change our outlook on life!
This easy D-I-Y makes a great gift for a friend, your husband, or just for you. I also think it would be a great exercise for kiddos to learn contentment and gratitude on a daily basis. Creating habits like continually finding things to be grateful for could change your life! I hope you have fun with your joy jars!
Happiest Tuesday to you all! What are you grateful for today?
